Every email is honest. Real, working unsubscribe and “was this right?” feedback links replace old placeholders, in every edition.

Nothing was thrown away. The previous newsletter templates stay available as a manual fallback.

02 · One action, everywhere

Save, watch, skip — the same, everywhere.

Actions used to drift between cards, modals, and search. Now every surface reads from one source.

One canonical action state. Save, Watch, Not Interested, and Remove behave identically across cards, modals, search results, and SmartLane — with Undo on every one.

Removing asks why, briefly. A clear reason prompt appears, but the answer is optional and never blocks the action.

Your Movie Shelf is now Saved for Later. The name is consistent throughout, and saving a film feeds SmartLane as a lighter signal than Watched.

Mark watched from the card. A quick checkmark on Tonight's cards marks a film watched and slides in the next pick — no need to open it first.

03 · Activity

Your last 30 days, in one place.

A new Activity page in the account panel keeps a running, date-grouped log of what you've watched, saved, searched, and passed on.

Nothing to set up. Open Activity from the side panel — every entry links straight back to the film.

Grouped by day. Today, yesterday, and every day before that, most recent first.

04 · Search & discovery

Search that goes somewhere.

Results open the full film. Search now leads into the complete movie detail — trailer, story, providers, and every action — instead of a dead end.

A cleaner trailer. Clearer labeling, better-cropped artwork, and a close button that no longer overlaps the video.

05 · Movie DNA

Who you are, before the card.

The Tender Heart

All fifteen profiles now lead with a core emotional need rather than a genre — the difference between a label and a portrait.

Fifteen profiles, rewritten. Each is framed around a core emotional need, with cross-genre examples and less templated copy.

Archetype is now DNA. One name for it across the whole app.

Read first on mobile. The layout leads with who you are before the card, and sharing is a clear, labeled action.

06 · Taste Evolution

Evidence that actually fits.

The proof matches the signal. The films shown as evidence for a taste signal are now guaranteed to relate to it.

07 · Performance

Instant on the second look.

Insights are cached. A film's generated insight is kept after the first view — instant on return, with a graceful fallback if it is slow or fails.

A faster, steadier model. Recommendation copy — the reasons and one-line stories on every card — now generates in about two seconds, consistently.

Movie DNA loads faster. A duplicate calculation that could fire twice on a cold visit to Movie DNA now runs once.

Every story, one line. Film summaries are now written to fit a single line instead of running long and getting cut off mid-sentence.

Loading states hold their shape. Movie DNA and the movie detail modal no longer resize themselves once real content arrives.

08 · Community feedback

This release exists because you filed it.

This one came straight from the community — and it reshaped the whole newsletter.

Abhinav Adhikari · pointed out the newsletter kept surfacing the same films week after week. The new four-edition system is the answer.

09 · Under the hood

Housekeeping.

Streaming setup gets out of the way. The setup prompt now disappears from the home screen once your providers are configured.

Long titles behave. Titles that used to overflow or crowd out the rest of a card now scale down instead.

A modal that wasn't centered, is now. The Import Watched Movies dialog had a CSS conflict that pushed it off-center on some pages.

Consistent naming. “Saved” is “Saved for Later” everywhere it appears.
